Lent

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday and this year it falls on the 6th of March. While details are still to be finalised we shall we be having study groups on Fridays during Lent over a soup lunch again, and a Lenten Collection for a designated charity. If you’d like to suggest a charity that is meaningful to you please do let me know.

Quiz Night

The next Quiz night is on the 15th February when Barbara and Gordon have very kindly offered to be our quiz masters for the evening, so bring your own drinks and share in the supper for the first quiz night of the year.

Diocesan Synods

The first meeting of the diocesan synod is earlier this year: on the 24th February to give space to have the second and third meetings to meet as the electoral Synod: essentially the same people just a different function. So the first meeting takes the form of the usual annual Synod (and we may be told the names of the chosen candidates around about that time) and the 9th March becomes the interviewing electoral Synod and if all goes well the 17th March becomes the synod that actually votes in a new Bishop: all being well, and so we should hear an announcement that day, or shortly afterwards.

Coffee Mornings

The next coffee mornings, unless otherwise notified, should take place on the more usual Saturdays at the end of the month on the 23rd February and 30th March
